This is a close-up view of the observable phenomena within the solar re-director technology. This prototype was CNC machined from acrylic, PMMA and hand polished. A 520nm laser is made visible with a smoke scattering medium and internal reflection is clearly observed within the optic.
This image demonstrates how the solar re-director technology effectively re-directs off angle light in a direction normal to the bottom surface.
This is one of the first molds for 5mm feature size
prior to polishing.
This is a flat sheet of 5mm acrylic, PMMA, being illuminated laterally by a collimated source.
This is a demonstration of the re-director technology with an early prototype in sheet form. This was CNC machined with custom tooling.
This image represents a field laminator concept.
